Major mechanical defects can result in extremely hazardous situations. Did you know that Chrysler recently recalled more than 300,000 Jeeps due to the potential for loss of vehicle control? This is a major safety concern, and could entitle Grand Cherokee owners to significant compensation. The recall, submitted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to Chrysler on Feb. 22, affects 2021-2023 Grand Cherokee L and 2022-2023 Grand Cherokee vehicles produced between December 2020 and May 2023. According to Chrysler, impacted vehicles are prone to a sudden loss of control thanks to steering knuckle separation. Affected vehicles can experience a separation of the upper control arm ball joint from the steering knuckle, causing the wheel to fall outward and resulting in a loss of control. If you have a Grand Cherokee, you are urged to check the NHTSA website to view any active recalls on your vehicle.
Issues with the 4xe Hybrids
Jeep is also recalling nearly 200,000 plug-in hybrid SUV's because their windshield defrost and defog functions might not work. The recalled vehicles include the 2021 to 2024 Wrangler 4xe and 2022 to 2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe.
